Relief Efforts for Thailand Floods
Message from John Badam
Please join me in providing support to our associates and the community in Thailand as they continue to manage challenges caused by the country’s worst floods in 50 years. The floods have already claimed more than 600 lives, caused billions of dollars in damage and shut down many businesses and public infrastructure.
I am relieved that none of our associates in Bangkok have been physically hurt although many have experienced damage to their homes and personal effects. Currently, about 100 associates have evacuated from their homes and are living in temporary accommodations. Many have had no chance to assess the damage done to their homes yet.
As we continue to ensure their safety as a top priority, I am touched by our team’s commitment to delivering for clients. Where possible, many have returned to work despite the many inconveniences they are facing.
How You Can Help
In the APMEA region, associates have begun contributing to our established AAA Company Thailand Fund to provide financial relief to those colleagues who may need to evacuate from their homes or repair homes that are damaged by the floodwaters. APMEA associates who wish to contribute to this Fund can continue to contact their local HR Business Partner for details.
Many of our associates outside APMEA have also inquired about contributing to local relief efforts. In following our AAA Company Cares’ commitment to support the communities in which we live and work, you may consider contributing to the Thai Red Cross Society (“Donate to help flood victims in Thailand”).
Please join me in keeping the people of Thailand in your thoughts.
